Collectables
Painted and fused platters – examples shown on the web are examples of past work. Merinda is always developing new ideas. While often made in series, all pieces are one off.

The paints used are made of ground glass and pigment and are fired in as the kiln fires making them permanent and durable.

Galleries featuring Merinda’s artwork are Handmark Gallery in Hobart, Stanley Artworks in Stanley and Olivera Gallery, Evandale.

Cast Glass – a developing area of work. The process is very complex involving first making a wax positive of the piece. This is cast into a one off plaster mould and the wax steamed out. The cavity is then filled with glass during a long kiln firing that can often last many days. The magic of the light playing with the finished work is very seductive.

Garden collectables – “Dance Lightly” were a series of ‘dancing’ boots first featured at the Fleurty’s outdoor sculpture show in 2008. Made as portable sculpture for the home garden, they refer to our place in the natural world and the impact we can chose to make.
